Here are a few responses to some of the frequently asked questions about the School of Ministry and Missions (SOMM).
Will I be required to travel?
Overseas trips are not required for SOMM, but several opportunities will be made available during the course of the Fall and Spring Semester.
Is there homework? What is the workload of the school?
Each semester there are 3-4 books (cost included in tuition) that tie into the course content in the classroom. Each student is required to give a brief summary of each book.
In addition, we ask students to choose 2 (of several) local outreach or service opportunities to participate in over the course of the semester.
How long does it take to complete the school?
SOMM is a one year program comprised of a Fall and Spring Semester.
A second year is also now available for those students who want to continue into an internship.
How long does a semester last? How long are classes?
A semester lasts 16 weeks, and classes take place on Tuesdays from 6:30-9:30 PM. Each evening combines two 90 minute sessions.
What is the deadline for registration?
Students may register up until August 21, 2018, for the 2018 fall semester.
What if I miss a few classes?
Each class will be recorded on video, and links will be made available to enrolled students to catch up on anything that they miss.
Are there any age or educational requirements for the class?
SOMM requires that students graduate high school before enrolling. Exceptions can be made for students that have completed Levels 1 & 2 of the Movement Youth Student Leadership program, and are over 16 years of age.
