Rachel and I have it on our hearts to have a special time of prayer this Wednesday at 7PM (and the following Wednesday at 7PM) in Spirit of Jeremiah 33:3.

‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

The Lord has been highlighting this verse in so many ways for all of us. And with it He has spoken that a 3rd Great Awakening is beginning in our generation. We’re on the verge of breakthrough, of God’s purpose being birthed and it’s time to PUSH – pray until something happens!

We felt a breakthrough beginning this last Sunday morning in worship. Something is about give way.

After we planned to gather and pray this Wednesday, I remembered that we are in the middle of the feast of Tabernacles and that this Wednesday is the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, the day these verses are talking about in John 7:37-39

“On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive.”

There’s a shift happening. A Third Great Awakening is beginning and it’s going to come in regions and cities where God’s people are hungry for Him. I don’t want to miss it. There’s a cry rising up in me, like the cry of Blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10. Jesus was passing through Jericho, and when Bart heard Jesus was passing by, he began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” They told him to quiet down, and they tried to hush him up. But it says he cried a “great deal more”, HAVE MERCY ON ME!

I believe that there are voices of resistance that want to quiet us down – to quiet down hunger, to quiet down prayer, to cool off our passion and love for God, and quiet down the cry of our hearts for more of Jesus, more of His Presence, and a greater move of God’s Spirit. There are circumstances and distractions that want to keep us from breaking through. We need to do what Blind Bart did. He cried out a “great deal” more. It’s not time for us to pray or worship less. It’s time for us to pray more and worship more. A great deal more. It’s not time for passion to diminish. It’s time for passion to rise! It’s time for our hunger of our hearts to erupt into undignified prayer and worship of King Jesus.

Mark 10:49 says something amazing – Jesus STOOD STILL. There was something about this cry that made Jesus stop in his tracks – his attention was arrested. God can not and will not pass by the cry to know HIM, the cry for more of Him. Son of David, our prayer is the same. In all that you are doing in our generation, DON’T PASS US BY! Breakthrough here, move here, Your Kingdom come HERE!

After Blind Bart was healed of his blind condition, it says that immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. He joined in the movement of where Jesus was going! He called to the Lord, and Jesus answered Him, and showed Him great and mighty things.

Come and pray together with us in the sanctuary on Wednesday! Help us in gathering others to pray If you are on Facebook, you can RSVP at the event we’ve created online. Click here.
