Ralph Hiatt (together with his wife Frances, who went to be with the Lord in October 2010) has ministered for over 36 years as a missionary to Argentina. The main thrust of his ministry has been evangelism and planting churches. The first church that the Hiatts planted in the city of Buenos Aires was in a ghetto area called La Boca. In January 1977, in a 30 day evangelistic effort in a city park in Buenos Aires, 120 new converts were added to that young ghetto church. Of these 120, fifteen were teenage boys. Seven of these were called to the ministry and graduated from the River Platte Bible Institute. The Hiatts then helped several of them plant new churches, using La Boca ghetto church as the mother church. Two of these daughter churches now have over 30,000 faithful believers. The La Boca ghetto church has sent out 87 ministers and wives into the world harvest, some as overseas missionaries.
Ralph just returned from one month of ministry in Argentina, where he preached 34 times. The results were so astounding that he is preparing to leave again for Argentina on February 4, for 3 months of intense ministry.
