An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 shook the San Francisco Bay Area at 5:33 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012. Thankfully, no damages or injuries have been reported.

One resident tweeted, “All of San Francisco just woke up, tweeted, and are now going back to bed for an hour. Thanks early morning #earthquake.”

When life brings a little shake-up our way, how long does it take us to find the peace of God and enter back into the rest of the Lord?

The Bible says “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

That’s how we, as believers, should respond to adversity; by turning our worries into prayers, praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and by resting in the peace of God that only comes from being in His presence.

Then tweet “My worries have all been prayed as prayers, my praise has given me peace, Thanks #JesusChrist for your rest. Now, back to bed.”

Everything that can be shaken, will be shaken. Thankfully, the peace that God gives is an unshakable peace!
