The Winter is Past

Spring begins with the vernal equinox at 4:02 A.M. Pacific Standard Time on March 20, 2013 in California.

I love springtime. This season brings with it, increasing daylight, warming temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna. New life is literally springing up all around us.

Just as the natural landscape is beginning to change, so the Lord is bringing a shift in the spirit as well.

Song of Songs 2:10-12

New International Version (NIV)

10 My beloved spoke and said to me, spring flowers
“Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, come with me.
11 See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
12 Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.

It is time to shake off the winter blues and let go of any baggage that is holding us back from God’s best for our lives. Just as we traditionally do a deep spring cleaning in our homes, it is time to clean up our spiritual residences as well. Out with the old and in with the new so to speak.

Then let us then rise up and see the new and amazing things the Lord is releasing in this season. It is time to begin a new chapter in our lives. One filled with increased light, greater joy, and overcoming victory!

1 Corinthians 2:9

New International Version (NIV)

However, as it is written:

“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”
the things God has prepared for those who love him—

Lord Jesus open our eyes to see, our ears to hear, and our minds to conceive all the good things you have in store for your people. Renew vision and fill our hearts with fresh passion.  Release new songs of worship and praise in this season. Pour out a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit and fire upon your people.
