Summer Fire – John Bidaurreta

Summertime is a season of BBQ’s, backyard s’mores, campfires and 4th of July Fireworks. Here in California we need to especially practice good fire safety procedures. We must keep the fire contained inside its designated burn zone, making sure it does not come in contact with anything else that is flammable.  In 2012 alone California had over 8,500 fires, which consumed more than 900,000 acres.

forestfireThis should not be the case for the passionate flame of the Holy Spirit that is burning in our hearts. Let’s not contain the fire of God’s love, but rather add fuel to the fire and then release it everywhere we go.

Luke 3:16 “John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

We have been filled the Holy Spirit and fire, let’s not keep it to ourselves, that is not why He gave it to us.

Hebrews 1:7 “Who makes His angels spirits
And His ministers a flame of fire.”

Let’s be that flame of fire this summer, spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. Demonstrating the kingdom with passionate love, holy living and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Lord Jesus, help us burn with a passion for the lost, releasing flaming embers of your love everywhere we go. Sparking fires of salvation, healing and revival, burning out of control all over California.
