Many of us heard about, or participated in, the November Thankful Challenge. This was where people posted something to they were thankful for on their social media accounts each and every day of November. I was so personally blessed by all the thankfulness that was trending in November.
Well, my challenge for us this month is what I call #GoodNewsDecember.
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)
How awesome would it be during this Christmas season, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, if we posted nothing but good news on social media? The word Gospel even means “good news”. Let’s do it! We can post Scriptures verses, Christmas Carols, answers to prayer, testimonies, and stories of God’s faithfulness. Post anything that is positive, encouraging and adds to people’s joy in this season. Call it negativity fast or a positivity feast!
The gospel is forever good news; it’s the best news imaginable for absolutely everybody. “And then he told them, “You are to go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.” (Mark 16:15)
So let’s do it. Start the trend. It’s time for #GoodNewsDecember!
Lord help us to use these powerful tools of social media to share the love of our Savior far and wide, to celebrate all the good and amazing things that you have done in our lives. May the good news of the Gospel be trending in people’s hearts in this season.
