The Breaker – Rachel Klinge

One night the patriarch Jacob fell asleep in a place called Luz.  As he slept, he dreamt of an open heaven.  Specifically, he saw a ladder set-up, reaching all the way to the heavens.  The angels of God were descending and ascending up and down the ladder.  But even more awesome, was the fact that Jacob saw the Lord God standing at the top and the Lord spoke to him, promising him the land he slept on and that he would break forth in all directions – west, east, north, and south.

Jacob describes this place as the house of God and thus, renames it Bethel.  Here God showed Jacob that when God’s presence is in a place, there are no limitations. Earthly limitations and impossibilities cannot stand in His presence!  Listen to what it says in Micah 5:13, “Then I, God, will burst all confinements and lead them out into the open. They’ll follow their King. I will be out in front leading them.”  The Breaker is one who bursts open the way.  This is a Messianic-title of Christ.  He broke open the way, bursts confinements, and breaks open the gates.

Ultimately, we see Jesus fulfill this role by shedding his blood on the cross of Calvary. There he BROKE the dominating power of sin.

There he BROKE the power of sickness.

There he BROKE the reign of death.

There he BROKE the power of hell, and the grave.

The breaker also breaks ceilings of limitation. Limits on faith get removed.

It doesn’t matter what kind of breakthrough you’re reaching for today.  Whether it’s physical, spiritual, personal, financial, familial, if God is there you can experience a breakthrough.
