Just about every person who I have met who is visiting the US for the first time from a foreign county has made this same comment. The size of the soft drinks that are served here are huge. Then they really can’t get over the fact that most restaurants offer free refills. I even had to reassure one of my wife’s cousins who was visiting from Brazil. He was asking me if we didn’t order any food and we only ordered drinks they would keep refilling them for the same price? Of course I told him, everybody loves free refills in America.

The similar experience happened to me when I was a new believer in Jesus Christ and I was learning about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I was so excited to hear about all the benefits of being filled with the Holy Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit, and the power and boldness to be His witnesses.

8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me[a] in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

It was amazing, I was so pumped to hear that what happened to the 120 gathered in the upper room was available for me.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
I was all so good, but it got even better when I found out that it not just a one time event, but that we could continue to be filled in the Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18 New King James Version (NKJV)
18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
The original Greek translation for “be filled” means to “to keep on being filled constantly and continually”. So in other words the Lord is pouring out free refills of Holy Spirit. That we can be refreshed and refilled daily.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for gift of the Holy Spirit that you sent and that you are continually sending to your people. Lord help us to daily seek to be refilled and empowered by your Spirit, to move in miracles, signs and wonders. Let us be full of boldness to truly be your witness in the earth today. Fill us afresh oh Lord.
