Here are a few responses to some of the frequently asked questions about the School of Ministry and Missions (SOMM).

Will I be required to travel?

Overseas trips are not required for SOMM, but several opportunities will be made available during the course of the classes.

Is there homework? What is the workload of the school?

Each semester, there are 3-4 books (cost included in tuition) that tie into the lecture content. Each student is required to give a brief summary of each book.

In addition, we ask students to choose 2 local outreach or service opportunities to participate in over the course of the semester.

How long does it take to complete the school?

SOMM is a two-year program comprised of 4 semesters.

The second year is available for those students who want to continue into an internship.

How long does a semester last? How long are the classes?

A semester lasts approximately 16 weeks, and classes take place on Tuesdays from 6:00-9:30 PM. Each evening combines prayer and worship with two lecture sessions.

What is the deadline for registration?

Students may register up to the start date of the semester.

What if I miss a few classes?

It is recommended that students do not miss more than 2 classes per semester.

Are there any age or educational requirements for the class?

SOMM requires that students graduate from high school before enrolling. Exceptions can be made for students who have completed Levels 1 & 2 of the Movement Youth Student Leadership program and are over 16 years of age.
